Bere ikerlanek entzuteko ekintzan biltzen diren alderdi soziokultural eta politikoen azterketa dute ardatz. Landa-grabazioekin lan egiten du; praktika bihurtu eta teoria fonografiko erradikalak lantzen ditu haiekin. Sorkuntza artistikorako eta soinu-egoera espezifikoak sortzeko ekintza politiko gisa ulertzen du entzuteko ekintza, pentsamendu kritikoa sortzeko helburuarekin.
Bere lana entzuteko ekintzaren azterketatik abiatzen da, sorkuntza artistiko garaikiderako keinutzat duena, eta bere alderdi soziokulturalak eta politikoak erakusten ditu, baita bere muga etikoak eta estetikoak zalantzan jarri ere. Musikak, soinuak eta entzuteko ekintzak finitutasun existentzialarekin, iraunkortasunik ezarekin eta heriotzarekin duten erlazioa ikertzen ari da.
Deep Listening eta soinu-paisaiaren erregistroa irakasten du Bartzelonako Unibertsitateko Soinu Artearen Masterrean.
Mundu osoko erakunde eta museoetan erakutsi ditu bere lanak, artista, koreografo, filosofo, antropologo eta ikertzaileekin elkarlanean.

Artista sonoro, investigador independiente y comisario ocasional.
Sus investigaciones se centran en el estudio de los distintos aspectos socioculturales y políticos que residen en el acto de escucha. Trabaja con grabaciones de campo y las transforma en una práctica y teoría fonográfica radical. Entiende el acto de escucha como un acto político para la creación artística y de situaciones sonoras específicas con el objetivo de crear un pensamiento crítico.
Su obra parte del estudio del acto de escucha como gesto para la creación artística contemporánea mostrando los aspectos socioculturales y políticos del mismo cuestionando sus límites éticos y estéticos. Actualmente está investigando sobre la relación entre la música, el sonido y el acto de escucha con la finitud existencial, la impermanencia y la muerte.
Es profesor de “Deep Listening y registro del Paisaje Sonoro” en el Máster de Arte Sonoro de la Universidad de Barcelona.
Sus trabajos han sido mostrados en diferentes instituciones y museos de todo el mundo en colaboración con diferentes artistas, coreógrafos, filósofos, antropológos e investigadores.

Sound artist, independent researcher, and occasional curator.
Nieto’s research focuses on the study of the various sociocultural and political aspects inherent in the act of listening. He works with field recordings, transforming them into a radical phonographic practice and theory. He understands the act of listening as a political act for artistic creation and the creation of specific sound situations, aiming to give rise to critical thinking.
His work is based on the study of the act of listening as a gesture for contemporary artistic creation, showcasing its sociocultural and political aspects and questioning its ethical and aesthetic limits. He is currently researching the relationship between music, sound, and the act of listening with existential finitude, impermanence, and death.
He teaches “Deep Listening and Soundscape Recording” in the Master in Sound Art at the University of Barcelona.
His works has been exhibited in various institutions and museums around the world in collaboration with different artists, choreographers, philosophers, anthropologists, and researchers.
