For five days, Pascal Merighi and Florence Minder will go into a kind of laboratory and sound out their individual artistic universes in which they normally move. They shift space and time, search for common patterns of movement, create physical scores to deconstruct them and play with their ancestral roles and their attributions. On 19 and 20 October, the artists at the Prinz Regent Theater in Bochum will provide an insight into this process through a performative installation with compositional and musical accompaniment by Spanish composer and musician Mikel R. Nieto.

Pascal Merighi trained as a dancer at the Rosella Hightower International Dance Center, Cannes, Pascal Merighi spent five years as a dancer at Tanzforum Köln under the direction of Jochen Ulrich. From 1999 to 2013 he was a member of the ensemble of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. Parallel to his dancing career, Pascal Merighi also works as an actor, choreographer and dramaturge in England, Germany, France and Switzerland. In 2018 he founded the company merighi I mercy with Thusnelda Mercy.

Florence Minder, born in Switzerland and living in Brussels, is a writer and actress. Her writing for the stage aims at a radical interaction with the audience. She always succeeds in creating forms of expression that are specific to the respective context, such as in Good Mourning!, Vostbil, Calendrier de l’Avent etc.. Florence Minder works among others with the dancers Thusnelda Mercy, Pascal Merighi and Fabien Prioville as well as with the writers Karen Köhler and Sarah Berthiaume.

Press reviews: "With the actress Minder and the sound artist Mikel R. Nieto, Pascal Merighi extends his dance universe with further artistic influences - so in 1 + 1 = 1 the spoken word is not entirely avoided. In terms of content, the piece explores the tension between the longing for unity and the insistence on individuality. In return, the two expressive artists find images that are as beguiling as they are coherent, which invite one to examine basic motifs of human existence. The whole thing is also in the dance implementation without fault and blame. Mikel R. Nieto's music opens the space for association even further." (Stadtspiegel)
